Ontario Regulation 30/11 (General) made under the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, 2002; Ontario Regulation 32/11 (General) made under the Board of Funeral Services Act; and Ontario Regulation 31/11, which amends Ontario Regulation 347/04 (Agents) made under the Insurance Act were filed with the Registrar of Regulations on February 11, 2011.
Further Information: Proposal Number: 09-MSBCS003 Posting Date: June 1, 2009 Summary of Proposal:The Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, 2002 received Royal Assent in the Ontario Legislature on December 13, 2002. The new Act consolidates and modernizes two existing statutes, the Cemeteries Act (Revised) and the Funeral Directors and Establishments Act. Before the new Act can come into force, the government must develop the necessary supporting regulations.
