TM introduces 8Mbps Streamyx and business broadband packages

TELEKOM Malaysia (TM) has introduced a faster 8Mbps bandwidth for Streamyx, on top of its existing 1Mbps, 2Mbps and 4Mbps packages, as well as new business broadband packages.

“The introduction of 8Mbps bandwidth speed for our broadband packages reflects TM’s continuous efforts to meet market needs for even faster connectivity. and to deliver a better service experience to all Malaysians,” said Imri Mokhtar, executive vice president of TM’s Consumer business.

“Now, customers in areas where our high-speed broadband UniFi [service] is not available can also enjoy faster connectivity to meet their requirements,” he added. The company said it has more than two million Streamyx and UniFi subscribers.

The 8Mbps bandwidth options are available for Streamyx, Business Broadband SoHo and Business Broadband 1 & 5 Fixed IPs.

The packages for Streamyx and Business Broadband are as follows (click to enlarge):

Streamyx and Phone package for 1Mbps until 8Mbps will be inclusive of:

• Voice call plan – Free calls between TM Fixed line to TM Fixed line nationwide, flat rate for calls from TM Fixed line to mobile

• Free WiFi modem

• Free Cordless Phone; and

• No Call Plan Package Fee.

All new 8Mbps Streamyx registration, including registration via TM’s website at http://www.tm.com.my/ from now until Feb 28 will enjoy free one-month subscription, and a waiver of the activation and installation fee.

The new 8Mbps bandwidth option is available for subscription for new and existing residential customers with a minimum subscription period of 12 months, TM said.

The new Business Broadband 8Mbps is also available for new and existing business customers.
